Red Light + Rail Runner Surveys

Three distinct techniques exist for undertaking surveys involving vehicles that run red lights or rail crossing signals and barricades.

Austraffic can apply the application of its data loggers to detect traffic signals on a red phase, either by direct connect to the signals or passive optical sensing of a red signal, in conjunction with an axle sensor on the departure side of a stop line.

This system can identify the frequency of red light running events and or usage of a second axle sensor post stop line can classify the vehicle type and speed post stop line. The more useful information at this instant is vehicle type and knowing if a car or type derivative is at fault.
