Austraffic completed a boat classification and count survey for a state government department, using 20 field staff observing and recording all river vessels at various locations on the Yarra and Maribyrnong Rivers and at St Kilda and Williamstown.
The types of vessels surveyed included Dragon and rowing boats, canoes, sailing boats and motorised craft (private and government owned). Austraffic also recorded the number of rowers and the size of the vessels.
